Playing DVD's in Dolby Digital on Win2k

I have a sound blaster Live 1024 with Digital Output which i connect to a External Dolby Digital Amplifier......

....dolby digital works fine with Win98 but not with Win2000, ....

but the problem with Win98 is i keep getting Random Lockups when Playing Some/most DVD's and i have to HardShutDown the PC....

....so among other reasons i decided to go with Win2000 for stability, but i cant get the Digital output to "Pass-Thru" the "AC3" signal for Dolby Digital to work.....

basicaly Creative or MicroSoft doesn't support the "AC3 Pass-Thru" under Win2k but there are patches available from other sites

i have tried a few patches for sound card which worked but these had side effects where creative mixer no longer worked....

does any1 know of a "AC3 Pass-Thru" Patch for Win2k they have tried with no side effects? or am i asking to much of 2k?

Thx in Advance for your Help

cheers fatbloke, but unfortunatly that was the site i found b4, i did give "liveac3_v31a.exe" another go but with same results, no creative mixer.....and this time the patch didn't work, or rather it wouldn't allow me 2 play DVD's at all full stop.....had to restore ghost backup again....

    anymore ideas?

    Regards
