    Win2000 Pro Networking Question

I have a 3 computer lan with the host computer and 1 client running winME I installed win2000 pro on the 2nd client to see if I want to use it or not on all 3 stations...My network is up and running fine I can access files on both winME computers from the win2000 machine but I cannot get access to any files on the win2000 machine from the winME machines it is asking for a password for the shared resources....I did not assign a password to any of the shared directories nor did I set an administrator password becuase I did not want to use passwords to access my network....How can I be able to get to the files on the win2000 machine from the winMe machines please help

there are a couple possible ways around this that i know about.
one would be to make sure the Guest account is active and enabled on the Windows 2000 machine.
this is kind of like using a shotgun to open your window though security-wise

usually what is suggested is to make sure that there is a user account(s) on the Windows 2000 machine that matches exactly the Username and password of the logged-on user on the other system(s), in your case the Windows ME systems (if you didn't use a password on the ME machines for the logon info, don't use one for the user you create on the Windows 2000 machine).
    good luck

It is not required that you use a password on the winme machine all the time just the first prompt when you try to access the win2k machine. But you must have a user setup on the win2k machine for the winme machine with the exact same username. Make sense?
