    screwy profiles

In the past week a number of users on our Nt system have been having wierd logins. they are supposed to log in and a student.bat file is to run and take them to their user profiles which should be the same. Not some of them seem to be logging into an All User profile and I can't think of why. I give them a new id and they are fine. Any ideas cause when the path goes screwy they can't access any prrams such as word or access.
    thanks
    Brent

    Is the profile corrupt?

    look in c:\winnt\profiles\
are there folders in there that have a .bak extension?

Check UserManger and make sure the profile path is set correctly. If mandatory roaming profiles are enabled and the user is not getting their profile, then it sounds like the system doesn't know where the profile is and loads it from cache or creates a new default user profile.

avneger sir....yes there are winnt profiles I know that but am not sure it there are any with the .bak extension. I will check tomorrow when I go there

kiddtek: the path to the profile is correct and only 30-40 % are having trouble.
