Need some NT help, please......
Friend had an NT4 workstation given to her (on a Dell Optiplex P2-350, 64Mb Ram). She asked me to format and install Win98 (which she's comfortable with).
Trying to get it to boot off Start-up disk, so I can FDISK. Just isn't happening. Any advice? Need more info? Just ask.....

You need to check the boot order in the BIOS. Make sure it's set to boot from Floopy first, then IDE.

are you sure the win98 startup boot floppy isn't corrupted somehow? what happens when you try to boot? Does it give you a non-system disk error, does it look like the floppy drive is even being accessed during the boot sequence, or does it boot straight to NT ?
on the surface, if the boot order in the bios is set to boot to floppy first, and you have a valid win98 startup floppy, then you should be able to boot to it....(download a win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com just in case and try it again)

Got it!
Turns out this thing had some admin passwords. I used a utility called Snadboy's Revelation to lift the passwords. Did a low-level format, installed Win98, and all is well. Thanks all!
