Dr. Watson access violations
I get access violations daily when working in Corel WordPerfect 8.0. I currently am running NT 4.0 w/ SP 5. The Dr. Watson error message reads: wp8win.exe exception: access violation: 0xc0000005; address: 0x3688c15c. Is this just a generic error? How can I fix this error?

Do the following. Uninstall Corel. Install the latest Service Pack. (6a)
Install Corel again.
If you still have the problem, ther is a big problem. If that is the case, someone will find a great site about acces violations for you.

Thanks! I tried reinstalling Service pack 5. Is there a problem with SP 6a and Corel. I saw in an earlier post somebody said not to install SP 6a if using Corel WordPerfect. Does anybody know of any good websites for troubleshooting access violations? Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I can give you another good thing to do... when the famous Dr Watson Popsup let him finish to do what he is doing and then press the Help button. There you will find some good info. Ofcourse, read the help together with the log file that has been generated.
Good Luck.

What service Pack do you have installed for WordPerfect? I believe they are up to 7 or 8 for WordPerfect 8. You can install the latest at:
Corel Support
I haven't seen any problems with running WordPerfect 8 on an NT machine with Service Pack 6a. Well, beyond the fact that WordPerfect has been flakey ever since Corel bought it.
