How do I change the Server Name on a PDC?
What is the best way to change a PDC's name?
IE: It is called NTSERVER1 now and I want to call it NT01
What are the potential consequences of these changes?
Thanks for the help!

The only way is through Network Neighborhood->Properties. On the Identification Tab, Click Change. You need to do this while logged in as a user that is a member of the Administrators Group.
WARNING!!! The change could have massive repercussions, if you have other machines that depend on the machine name to map to resources on that machine.
IOW, if you have setup the LAN like most people do, you don't have a script file to handle conditional drive and printer mapping to the workstations or other servers that depend on the PDC.
To summarize, changing the machine name could be alot of work if you have lots of workstations on the LAN.
