NT Keyboard Lockup
I am a new NT administrator. I went to set
up a new account and the computer was locked.
It displays the A-C-D logon box but does not
respond. Since I have had security concerns
in the past with a student administrator, I
want to be certain this is a non-connected
event. I can still view files remotely, but
cannot logon locally. Is there a way to
bypass this short of re-booting cold? At
this point, only I have domain and admin
rights as far as I know.

You can check if you have domain admin rights by running "User Manager for Domains" and checking the "Domain Admins" group.
Then check that "Domain Admins" are members of the "Administrators" local group on the server
If so, you are most likely a enough rights. (I say most likely because there are ways of configuring NT so that other groups have Domain Admin Rights instead).
Not trusting a previous administrator is worrying though. If you don't know what to look for there could be all sorts on there. You should think about getting a security audit.
As far as the keyboard lock is concerned, you need the Administrator password.
Power cycling the system is usually not a problem if you do it at a time when users are not logged in.
