SHUTDOWN HANGING TOO LONG
Sony Vaio
Win 95
At shutdown, system hangs;
Checked the BIOS and enabled Power Management;
Went to start, setings, control panel, Advanced Power Management, enabled APM;
Added ; in front of load and run in win.ini;
removed startup programs except Norton Utilities 3.0;
Added a shutdown theme<which is not the cause>;
Reboot & shtdown= STILL HANGS
Also with a Compaq Presario 5030 with Windows 98

Could also be a hardware that does not feel too good. Windows trys to say goodbye to all the devices but one or more device(s) ain´t answering back!
If you got an Network device, try to remove it to see what happens.
