221 Alexa keys (?)
Installed AdAware 5.62 with new ref. 4.7.02 on a new computer and found 221 Alexa keys in registry. All with same extension.
Any explanations? Come with new computer? (Had 98SE installed and Shop did test internet connection)
New ref file find more? But all had the exact same extensions.
Very disturbing. And had to left click check 221 boxes.

There is a new version of AdAware, 5.71, that fixes that problem, I think.
The 221 references are also to the same key??
Alexa references are part of IE and will re-appear if you do a FIX, and sometimes after a WinUpdate.
As long as AwAware doesn't find any Alexa files, Alexa is not installed.
Also note that older versions of AdAware are detecting a Norton Cleanweep DLL incorrectly. This should be ignore also.
I can't remember if the update and the latest sig file correct this or not.

Hi Carson, as Johnking says, the Alexa key is installed with IE and seems to regenerate when you repair.
I had it on my system but deleted it with Ad-aware (kept it in Adaware backup just in case).
I wouldn't be too concerned about the 221 detections. I also had the same experience of Ad-aware detecting 221 instances - I checked the registry and in fact there was only one entry. This happened when I used the latest update of the sigfile on V5.7
However, the problem disappeared after I installed the latest version (5.71) of Adaware.
BTW, at the time I couldn't find referance to the latest 5.71 on the Lavasoft site, but did a Google search for Ad-aware 5.71 and found a couple of sites that it could be d/loaded from.

Thanks everyone.
Spearo, Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. Yes I did the update sigfile on the 5.62 vs. Should have checked registry as you did.
JK, 221 re-installs of IE. That's funny. I'll ask him tommorrow.
Thanks again.
