scan registry missing from msconfig
Last week my computer went a bit freaky (for lack of a better word) so I decided to try scanreg /restore. well to my surprise the last available was from 8 months previous and I am pretty sure (100% in fact) that I left that under msconfig. so i went back to make sure it was checked and it was gone. no available checkbox for scan registry. So without anything else to do I reinstalled windows. Question that has been bugging me though since is how did the scan registry line disappear from msconfig? Free snowball for the first one the appease my mind

Hi Brent,
There's no telling what caused it to disappear.
Gremlins, maybe?
More importantly, here's how to put it back:
Copy the bold to Notepad:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ScanRegistry"="C:\\WINDOWS\\scanregw.exe /autorun"
Save as Scanregw.reg, doubleclick, and answer 'yes' to have it merged into your registry.
Cheers, Tony
