CDRom only playing audio in 1 channel

I'm not sure since when, but my cdrom drive is only playing audio cds in one channel. When I play mp3 files or other audio files, they play stereo with no problem. I have another CD Drive (CDRW) and this one gives out no audio from cds at all.

If anyone knows how to correct this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Check the audio cable running from the CDROM to the side of the sound card. Your cable might have a R-G-G-L pinout and the sound card might have a G-L-G-R pinout, or the other way around. (Note: R=Right, L=Left, G=Ground.)

You're not hearing the OTHER CDROM drive because there is no audio cable connected at all.
