You put in more memory and got this message? This is supposed to be the message when you install another vid card for use with twin view, or two monitors. Are you sure it was memory? I'd pull whatever you installed and see what happens then. If it doesn't fix the problem then boot to safe mode(Before you get the windows starting message you hold down the F8 button and you are given a choice as to boot options and choose safe mode. It loads "vanilla" drivers and you can then go into control panel-system and click on the device manager tab. Look under display adapters and see what it says and post back. I'm not familiar with twin view and problems associated with it but someone here probably will be. Did you kill it? No, they can't be killed and it really is hard to do great harm to one. I've been trying for years.

As the pc boots , after the mem tests and BEFORE the "starting windows" message you hold down the F8 key at the top of the keyboard will, or should give you a boot menu and the third choice will be safe mode but maybe the command line choice would be better and at the C: prompt typing scanreg /restore will give you dates of successful windows loading when the registry was good. Choose a date and restore. The timing for the F8 key is critical and sometimes can be hard to hit but it should work. If not I'd use the startup disk to load dos then try the restore. Note the space between scanreg(space)/restore.

After rereading the posts I think I need a clarification. You get nothing when you start the computer? The screen doesn't show the bootup? When do you get the message about the display adapter?(That's your video card) Open up the computer and reseat the video card. I don't think your memory card has anything to do with this, I'm guessing that the video card isn't seated properly. Give it a shot. My guess is that in installing the memory you jostled the video card. Gee, I don't know if I've ever wriiten the word jostle before.

Does it have an additional video card?
The specifications indicate integrated grafics = "Graphics: ..Integrated 2X AGP 3D Graphics
Integrated 64-bit hardware-accelerated 3D graphics
MPEG full-motion video playback" http://support.tandy.com/support_com...oc57/57587.htm
Stil a good idea to recheck all cards, cables, memory, and power hookups.

My guess is that Grise is on the right track. Check out how to deavtivate the on board video. Some use jumpers others use software. Maybe knocked off the jumper during the memory instlation? Most probable the video card is not seated corectly.
Good luck, please let us know how it works out.

It sounds like you are in good hands I think grise and gnh are correct it's probably the 3dfx card is not seated.
The reason you can't see anything else is that the 3dfx adapter is being seen as the #2 adapter. Move your monitor cord to the built-in card and you will see all the normal boot stuff. Then you can go into your bios and disable the built-in card and move your cord back.
Hope that helps
