Resource dll ????
My turn, I have a reoccurring problem, frequently when I right click in Explorer or My Computer, I get a command type message:
________________________
IORDYUI
Resource dll not found!
________________________
I can click OK and continue but once it hits it keeps hitting in any Explorer or My Computer activity until a re-boot.
I've only found a couple of references to it but neither are similar in activity to mine. Anyone have any experience with this or ideas??
I've tried MSKB but the only references are Banyan and a lot of NT hits.
This is Win98SE, IE5.5 sp2, networked with a Win95B machine using TCP/IP and NetBEUI, Client for MS Networks.
Thanks

If you're using tweakUI you might consider undoing changes and uninstalling it.

O.K. I dug a bit deaper and did a search at deja (www.deja.com) and came across about a dozen
messages. It seems to be related to IOMEGA:
<original message> From: wwittmer (wwittmer(at)email.msn.com) Subject: Re: Resource dll error
Newsgroups: msn.computingcentral.windows95-98.general Date: 1999/12/29
For the benefit of the newsgroup readers, I was able to resolve this problem. I found that the first
part of the error message, "IORDYUI", was in reference to an Iomega DLL. This is the ioRdyui.dll and
was found in the program's folder. I had used the the Net 2000 Software Scanner (ver
2.1) by Sutton Designs, to analyze my software for Y2K compliance. It then makes changes to exe.,
dll, com., vxd. and sys. files so as to make the program Y2K compliant. I suspect that the
Iomega dll. was changed to the point of corrupting it. I uninstalled the Iomga software and
then reinstalled it and all is now working perfectly.

carpenturr, thanks you may have hit on it. I saw the reference to Iomega in my Google search but dismissed it since I had not altered (upgraded, etc) the software for my ZIP drive in at least a year.
I hadn't thought about the "Zip Test" utility I installed and ran a few weeks ago. If your not familiar with it, it's a small utility produced by Steve Gibson Labs to discover the click of death phenom. (By the way it works, since I originally downloaded and used it on my drive at work after I began losing disks. The drive was a hardware and software disaster. Since replaced.
It may be that it altered (corrupted) the same file mentioned in the research you did.
I'll un-install all Iomega software, re-install and post back afetr a week of tests. Thanks.

Just under a week now and after un-installing and re-installing Iomega the problem has not reared it's ugly head.
The Zip Test must have corrupted the DLL file. I think it's solved. Thanks all.
