Msconfig - task monitor......and disk defrag
Hi,
I'm curious about something. I have read that task monitor helps disk defragmenter defrag the computer. I don't have task monitor running in msconfig. While thorough scandisk will take at least 3 l/2 hours to run, disk defrag only takes 12-15 minutes to run. Could that be why my defrag runs so fast? I have 30gb harddrive.
Also, I had task monitor running recently, but was unable to close it with control, alt. delete so I disabled it. I don't schedule any tasks. I perform them myself.
I guess what I'm asking is: is Task Monitor important to have running.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Nancee

No, you can do without it.
With today's fast operating systems the difference is barely noticeable.
Uncheck it in Msconfig.
Subsequently, you can delete the hidden C:\Windows\Applog folder as well.
Cheers, Tony
