Hi Luteg,
I am familiar with scanreg /restore, but I took this registry backup from that sysbckup spot and put it to C\tempor~1\rb001.cab - that would be the path. I have these instructions to restore a registry backup from dos - I just don't know if it would work with a .cab file. Here's the command: c:>regedit /c c:\tempor~1\rb001.cab [enter]
(I know this will work with a backup exported from the registry, just don't know if it's the same with the cab file.)
If anyone knows, please let me know (hopefully I won't have to use it .
Sincerely, Nancee

Its not wise to have 2 threads going on what you are trying
to do. I responded in the 2nd thread you started. That cab file
was just insurance. Its not to be used the way you just described
above.

Nancy, I had ZA for a long time but finally had to uninstall it. I kept having cable connection problems. The best way to do a complete uninstall of ZA is to go here:
http://www.zonealarm.com/services/su...install_98.htm
and print all of the instructions to edit out ZA files. Follow the instructions to the letter and you shouldn't have any problems. It took me about 2 hours to remove everything. I now have Jammer & Tauscon(39 USD)but well worth it.

Sorry I made two threads, but I needed help with the registry edits, so I made the new threads.
Jmtjet - You're right, and I did print up all of the instructions but I didn't understand the editing and didn't want to fiddle in the registry until I had my questions answered. I'm happy to say I removed it from the registry and my computer is still running!
Thanks everyone!
Sincerely, Nancee
