Well... Unfortunately, I will suggest getting a new keyboard. it already seems as if your "e" is missing. You can get one really cheap, they are like 10 dollars. Or if yours is an ExPEnsive kind, (which i have never bought) or u just don't have the money, then remove all the keys off the keyboard, there is sometimes "foam" inside to catch debris, take this foam and wash it in warm soapy water, rinse and let dry. (Just the foam, not the keyboard). While you wash the foam wash the keys too. Then gently touch the inside of the keyboard, test if it is sticky or not, if it is, take a DAMP,(not wet, not dripping, DAMP) washcloth and "PAT" the area clean, No wiping, (unless it's really sticky, and then you wipe gently do not press overly hard you can damage the connections to the main board) and if you drip water on the Main board the keyboard is shot, so be careful, (also unplug this from the computer before attempting to clean) Now, you need a can of "air", which you can pick up at a computer store, or other vendor, Dry the inside of the keyboard completely. Attach the foam, and keys (the way you found them) (hee hee hee) then see if it works, (don't forget to wash around the outside too. not wet, damp. I hope it helps, let me know.

It is at least a little funny to see your problem so clearly illustrated in your m_ssag_.

One of the guys at work did that and we replaced the keyboard for awhile letting the splattered one dry out.
After it did dry out, it worked fine.
    Maybe we were just lucky.

mrfixer, You can't be serious.. please tell me. If you put that in the Dishwasher, you might as well throw it away. It will never dry out enough to use, (at least with in 3 weeks.) My solution was for Immediate fix so he can STILL use his machine with in a reasonable amount of time. But it's funny though and will have to try it when I have tim_.

I've had all sorts of electronics left out in the rain. Computers,TVs,printers, turntables, ect.
Unless there's some water soluble component ie. lubricant or paper wraped component there should be no problem.
My packard bell (POS) keyboard needs cleaning I think I"ll wash it now Top rack, heavy wash and dry. See if it doesn't melt.
I'll post back and let you know how it turns out.

Hmm, well pure water is non conductive because it has nothing in it besides h20, Tap water is full of minerals and chemicals of all sorts so it will conduct electricity. Cleaning a keyboard with distilled water might work (I wouldn't do it..don't have the nerve hehehe) but I do have doubts about the mineral deposits that putting it through a dishwasher would leave...

(rainwater is much more pure, mineral wise, than tap water)

    best of luck...

Hi 'gin.. it's a true post.. had it myself.. not a the "e" but "h" and give _ like you'd have a couple of keystrokes depressed. coffee will erode metal. sugar will create a stick or cover the key contact pad on the kb cboard. I'd say a new kb.. unless you want to take the whole thing apart. mach

I have to agree with Fink, I think the dishwasher would definately ruin the k_yboard. How_v_r, (you know it's hard to do that?) Scholmes needs to calm down and learn to enjoy helping others. You don't have to read these replies. Therefore it's not your concern whether anyone is pulling anyone else's legs.
