    Bootable CD with SCSI CDROM???

I would like to make a bootable CD that will work with my SCSI CDROM but all attempts so far have failed. I have a boot floppy that works and have even patched IO.SYS so that the boot process will wait until the disk is readable before loading each device driver
and before loading the command-line interpreter shell. With CMOS boot order set to CDROM I get a normal startup, with CMOS set to SCSI I get an invalid disk message. I'm stumped but am accumulating a nice set of coasters. Any ideas?????

I don't think you will be able to boot from a SCSI CD-ROM. Even if you have a SCSI interface on the motherboard, I think you will find that the BIOSes are separate. When you set the motherboard BIOS to boot from CD-ROM it is only going to recognize the IDE CD-ROM, because that is all it can check. The SCSI BIOS has not even loaded yet. The only chance you might have is if your SCSI BIOS has a boot from CD-ROM option. I have not seen any yet that do.

Do you have a bootable SCSI card with the latest BIOS? If you have a SCSI HD as your boot drive it should be OK. The links would indicate you can boot fine from a SCSI CD-ROM as long as it has the bootable BIOS.

Might be some info here you can use:

A suggestion in one of the sites is to use RW until you sort it out.

Thanks for the replies but I've been to those pages and many more and tried everything suggested there and in your posts. I probably need a newer SCSI card
