    New Ad-Aware Signature File 142-24.11.2001

The latest version will now target the latest Transponder and Cydoor components.

It looks like it is also going to target the IE Alexa entry, so if you want the "Show Related Links" feature, you will want to leave that component in place.

    Use the usual suspects: RefUpdater,

    LavasoftUSA,

    Or your friendly, neighborhood NiceFiles.

Hey...Ren'.....how 'bout that. They apparently decided that it indeed was spyware...and worthy of being targeted.
You know..a couple of times I did consider putting it back.......but I really don't miss it.....& it seems as if it really is as scummy as the other Alexa crap.

Yeah, I saw your title on the other thread list and loaded that thing last night.

Then I looked over Urizen's comments today. Looks to me like he thinks it's spyware... so it stays as a target

Thanks for the heads-up Renovator. Don't have any use for Alexa either,so it stays on my list too...

Do you just paste the unzipped SIG file into the Lang folder?

The unzipped .sig file goes in the Ad-Aware directory, so it should be at the same level as the 'lang' directory, rather than in it.

I installed "Show Related Links" as part of IE Web Accessories (I think), and only used it once (when someone said that it involved Alexa and I wanted to see). That use did not seem to install any cookies or other files. So perhaps "Show Related Links" is not as invasive as the full Alexa??

slipe--Download and install LavaSoft's RefUpdate. Then you only have to click on its command to automatically search for, download and install the latest reflist.sig whenever you are online.
