drivers for IBM 300 gl

I am reinstalling win98 se for a friend on an IBM 300 GL that she got second hand. only thing is she only got the audio drivers for it and I can't get the video to work. It is on board S3 3d turbo chip in the MB but any driver I have tried from their site doesn't give anything more than 16 colours. Any one have experience with these machines and knowledge of what driver to use? Thanks

to see if you can locate new drivers.

Other than that you might try changing change to the standard Windows VGA, SVGA, or 8514 video drivers as a stop gap measure.

Also you might try downloading DDCtest from;

Run it and note which resolutions your video card & monitor support at which refresh rates. Then you may be able to obtain your desired res setting by resetting your refresh rate on the Adaptor tab when you select Advanced.
