FORMAT D: by Right Click!!
Hi All, Can I Format D: by Right Clicking on my D artition, or will I have to do the same as I did to Format C:---ie..Start-up Floppy in DOS and Type-Format D: /s. Only got empty folders (My Music, recycled,Temp) and some Folder with this number 00000001 god knows what it is,& an Image.dat + Image.Idx file. Or can I just delete what is there and start again. I want to put my OfficeXP and a Prog called--FilingCentral by eFax.com on this partition. Thanks for your Reply in advance. yours,DENNIS

I always format a new drive with a right click – don’t see any reason it shouldn’t work for a drive other than C that already has some stuff on it.
I would just leave anything I don’t understand and clean off the drive by deleting the other stuff. That is presuming those files aren’t taking much space.
I wish to be laid to rest where I have so serenely spent my golden years. Bury me in my Crown Victoria in the left lane of US19.

just 1 thing... do not use the "/s" switch after "Format D:" as it will copy unnessary files onto your D Drive...
The "/s" means copy system files to make the drive bootable.
Just "Format D:" would do from DOS if thas the way u decide to do it... but yes u can also do it in Windows as u said... Format seems to run faster in Windows as well i think.

Just my opinions from past experience...and guessing. Post back to let others know if our ideas worked!
With a good backup program u can UNDO (almost) all your mistakes & bad installs etc in Windows!
