    Guru stumper?

I am stumped on this one. I originally created a Mouse folder on C drive and later to test a batch file I am writing I deleted the Mouse folder from C drive. That seemed to go ok. Now though when I try to create a new Mouse folder on C I am told the folder already exists. I guess it does but it does not show up in Explorer! Refreshing C doesn't make it appear. (I have show all files selected in Explorer.) A "Find" for Mouse on C drive reports the folder as being present. A power off restart made no difference. Booting with a floppy and doing a dir of C shows a Mouse folder. I have Dosshell installed and opening it to C drive shows no Mouse folder but I cannot create a Mouse folder in Dosshell either. Trying to copy a file to the phantom Mouse folder brings up a message "Do you want to overwrite the Mouse folder" and saying yes and returning to Explorer still shows no Mouse folder nor do I find anywhere on C drive the file I tried to copy to the Mouse folder.

Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?

have you tried viewing it in safe mode? if you try to delete it in safe mode it may cure the problem. I've had a similar problem but i don't remember exactly what i had to do to fix it.

Thanks tf but RMBox E'd me an answer that worked so I never tried your suggestion.

RM suggested booting to the C prompt and using deltree..

    C:\>deltree C:\mouse.*

    I used..

    C:\>deltree C:\mouse and it worked!

I had never thought of using deltree and I frankly blew the .* part of the command but as I said it worked anyway???
