LA, are you sure it is after the "It is Now safe to turn off.." and not "Windows is Shutting Down" screen this is occuring.
It has always been my experience that by the time you get there Windows has terminated all drivers and BIOS APM is in charge. It either shutsdown automatically, or if APM is disabled waits for a manual power off.
If you have ACPI, it should be Here

i guess theres no ACPI support then as its not there and yes it is AFTER the "safe to turn off PC" screen right at the excact point where it would normally automatically power off...
This seems wierd as b4 the BIOS update it was OK without ACPI!
Thx IMM for confirming that for me... i will ne happy tho if i can keep this BIOS and reinstall with no probs!

I've just got around to doing the fresh install... u've guessed it! didn't work either, so I restored the Original BIOS to make sure there was no permanent change and relief at last, SHUTDOWN IS OK again now...
Weird, i don't understand why fresh install didn't shutdown properly... i was quite supprised to say the least...
But anyway... not to worry, BIOS back to original now... and the original UDMA problem has been solved earlier and all seems OK now... its been a good learning experience with the BIOS stuff anyway even tho not exactly what i expected...
Most apreciated for ALL that spared your time and efforts helping, without you guys i would probably never have fixed it...
------------------
I wonder if theres a newer BIOS version available... lol

Hey there's always the 6110 version I pointed out on the ftp site.
Now that you've done it will look easy (but of course when you go over to your friend's place to do it you will find an AMI bios).
Want one that says 61X but not lxc (its 6113) ??

The 6110 is the same as the original version... i've had a look about for a v.CB6113, but no luck yet... maybe 1 day
Many thx

Just my opinions from past experience...and guessing. Post back to let others know if our ideas worked!
With a good backup program u can UNDO (almost) all your mistakes & bad installs etc in Windows!
