    Task Menu?

Hey guys need some help. I found 2 viruses on our system and got rid of them. But now when we boot up, the anti virus program scans (which it always has) but now the scheduled tasks screen comes up. What do we need to do to stop that? It started happening right after we got rid of those viruse and re-booted the computer. Kind of annoying, so how can we stop it? Used the virus scan on www.housecalls.antivirus.com and it found 2 on our home system and one at work. Guess our anti virus program "missed them". Any help on the scheduled task screen coming up at boot up, will be appreciated. Thanks!

pennydog--In System Tools you should have "Scheduled Tasks". Open that program's window and follow these instructions
    "To pause Task Scheduler

    Start Task Scheduler.
On the Advanced menu, click Stop Using Task Scheduler.
    Note

When you turn off Task Scheduler, your scheduled tasks do not run and Task Scheduler does not start automatically the next time you start Windows."

Thanks for your help. Followed the instructions, but have not re-booted yet. Will let you know if it does "not" work after I re-boot. Otherwise, thanks for your help!

    Jim,

Ok, so that did not work. When I re-booted the computer, the scheduled task screen came right back up. So now, what else can I do to make that stop? I looked in the advanced menu this morning it was unchecked, so I guess when I logged off, it just reset itself. Please help, very annoying. Thanks!

Go to Start, Run, type MSCONFIG, and click OK. On the Startup tab, you'll see a list of programs. Remove the check beside Scheduling Agent, and click OK. Reboot to notice the change.

If it's still running you may have Critical Update Notification installed.

Ok did the run thing and typed in msconfig, but in the startup tab there was not a scheduling agent. I went back to the task scheduler and clicked on the advanced tab again, then re-booted. So far it did not come show up at re-boot, but will let you know after the next shut down and boot up. Thanks for your help
