I must confess to being picked up for 2 bench warrants and being hauled off to the can for a few days. A fugitive was in the house, but alas, now I am legal.

SO SORRY!!!!! Naturally there were no computers available to me there, but I thought about you and my thread being left open and unended like that. In fact, I have been home for only 4 hours and besides getting a bit tipsy and red-eyed (no tears kind...) I knew I had to get back to you ASAP.

I need a couple days to recover from the shock, but frankly my sound problem is much less important to me than the fact I left you wondering. That is not my style, I am truly regretful that happened. Please forgive me...

FYI to any interested readers, before you read the next bit, I really was IN JAIL..., but you may wonder, I sure did.

There are 3 jails in the Las Vegas Valley, my tour hit 2 of them. Stay out of the Clark County Detention Center, it's harsh, but the City Jail was like a slumber party. Except for the fact you cannot leave and look foolish in a bright orange jumpsuit and have to call everyone collect on the phone, it was a party. I'm not kidding.

They don't search you on the way in. Not only that they allow you to keep your own under-garmets.. Just imagine what is smuggled in. You're right: everything small and illegal. You are allowed a fair amount of personal property -- considering it's "jail", like walkmans, books, locking drawers, an incredible commissary menu of real food and personal items, that is like a store, the food served was not disgusting (sliced Turkey, Stuffing(decent), Mashed taters, Corn, and cookies was one fairly memorable meal...

They don't check to see if the right people are living in the right rooms, and the things that go on in there are shocking, the guards don't do head counts but once a day and they announce it first, you can go in and out of any of the private "cells" by simply pushing a buzzer from 9am to nearly midnight, but beware of "do not disturb" signs. In the huge dayroom they run Movies on a HUGE TV nonstop most of the day,

....I mean it was like a vacation, a slumber party with over 100 adult females.

Shucks, I still owe $1,100 on the tickets... I am actually considering asking the judge to send me to jail to work it off as jail time at the $75.00 a day they pay/offer.

Not a bad deal considering that when they are overfilled...(always) and any time you spend there with your mattress "on the floor" instead of on an actual metal bunk is reimbursable BACK TO YOU at the rate of $75.00 a day. Hmmmmmm....

Sounds like they are offering to pay my tickets if I will grace them with my presence for a few days. Sign me up. Maybe later when I have no tickets I can go there and make some spare cash too. No wonder it's overfilled. I walked out of there feeling like it was a cross between X-Rated Disneyland and a MAD Magazine type Twilight Zone.

Incredible but true, and only in Las Vegas would you hear a story like this.
