Firefox profile
What ho one and all,
My wife is running Firefox ESR (I can't remember the version) with W8.1.
She does not know what she did, but it all went AWOL. As her tech-expert (!) I attempted to restore via Troubleshoot Mode, which made a backup of the profile folder and restarted FF. All is working but with none of her bookmarks nor toolbar, etc.
I have been into about rofiles but cannot see how I can import the backed-up profile. Finally, I did mange to copy it and although it is showing in about rofiles, there is no option to select it.
My questions is, how can I get her old profile installed andworking again?
Thanks and toodle pip

We will probably need the exact Firefox version number to provide any useful instructions on how to do this.

Thank for replying.
Her FF is 115.25 ESR in W8.1
I don't know what she did, and it is all working, just not the same appearance she had set up. I reset in Troubleshoot mode, and that backed up the profile to a desktop folder.
In the 'new look', (which she does not like) I have imported her bookmarks but it is still not working as previously.
Have been trying to switch to the old profile but don't understand. If copying the old profile to the profile folder, am told the name is too long (ending ---9030)
In about profiles there are three listed and the one that 'cannot be deleted' is the same name as the old profile.
On my FF, there is only one profile listed on about rofiles.
The bottom line is, if the Old Profile backed up to the desktop is the original, how do I get Ff to look as it previously did? Extensions are no longer visible; ad blocking gone, YouTube showing ads every 30 seconds!!!!
Wondering about uninstalling, reinstalling and just copying the old profile
to the new install?
