Upgrading my router
My current router is the TP-Link Archer AX50 router, which is 6 years old. It has been dropping connection, for a few seconds, several times a day. I want to purchase a new router. Is TP-Link still a good brand and quality the same as it was 6 years ago or is there another brand that is better? I would appreciate if someone could suggest a good brand and model with specs that will, hopefully, last another 6+ years. Thanks!

Do you lose connection while using the laptop? Or do you lose it while the laptop is sitting idle?
Does your cell phone lose it's connection at the same time?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

What Steve may be thinking is that it might not actually be the router that is causing issues. For example, a momentary power glitch may cause the router to reset, or if you are using a laptop, the power settings may cause a power off of the laptop's WiFi. I have my router and networking hardware on a UPS to handle the first issue, and I check the power settings to make sure that nothing is set to power off when on AC power.

Hi jdc2000. Thanks for the reply. I have my modem and router both connected to my battery back-up. I had had lost connections for a minute or two on my tv (which uses the firestick), and my cell phones, and laptop. I can't say if they all lost power at the same time.
