Windows 11 Activation problems
I bought a new computer but the builders installed win 11 Pro without an activation key. Must I bite the bullet and buy a legit version of Win 11 Pro? Is it necessary? the machine does almost everything except "customize". Thanks.

Also, is it better to have a physical copy or does the download suffice?

Was this a New Computer?
Was this a Computer you had Built or a Computer like an HP, Acer, Asus, etc...
Was it supposed to come with Windows 11 Pro Pre-installed?
Have you contacted the Builders?
That would be the first thing I'd do would be to contact the Seller/Builder!
Either way (Physical or Download will work).
If you Download, make sure you save it on some type of Media (Flash Drive, DVD, etc...)
something other than the Hard Drive.

The builders say they're sending me a code. It's a custom machine, basic mid range components, Intel i5, etc.

It may be something like what happened when I tried to do a Clean Install of Windows 11 Pro on this Laptop?
I purchased Windows 11 Pro w/Key, but after the Install, I couldn't get it to accept the Key.
When I contacted the seller, he explained that Laptops and Desktop Computers of Major Manufacturers have
the Key Embedded into them at the Factory (He didn't know I was installing this on one of these computers).
I actually knew about the Key being Embedded from my previous Laptop, but didn't think about it when ordering.
My Laptop was still recognizing it as a Windows 11 Home Computer and wouldn't except the Win11 Pro Key.
He then sent me a different Key to take care of it and an Instruction Sheet on how to get it to accept my Win11 Pro Key.
I don't remember the exact details (been two years), but the above is very close.
Anyway, it all worked out and I'm running on Win11 Pro!
I'm sure yours will be running Windows 11 Pro soon!
