Resolved [RESOLVED] Opening a New Window in Chrome

I use Firefox mostly but need Chrome for only a few sites used for work, so I'm not too familiar with it. How do I open a new window instead of a new tab in Chrome? This needs to be a choice I make each time, not a permanent change. I found some Javascript solutions online, but I don't know how to use Javascript in Chrome.

Right now, I just opened a new instance of Chrome from the Start menu, but I think that probably uses much more memory, and Chrome is piggy enough.

You can right click a link on a page and select to open in a new window or you can right click the Chrome icon on the taskbar and choose to open a new window.

A new window is a new window and uses the same resources no matter where or how you open it so no memory will be saved in any of these choices.

Many thanks. I run 2 profiles of FF +1 on Chrome all day. Is there any way of eliminating some of those Chrome threads? I have 10.

What do you mean by threads? If you mean chrome.exe processes, there are a few base processes plus one for each tab you open. That's why it doesn't matter if you create a new window or not.

Basically, each tab has one process unless the tabs are from the same domain. The renderer has a process for itself. Each plug-in will have one and so will each extension that is active.
