Installing .Net 4.7
I've downloaded updated software for my Garmin GPS, and I've gotten the error message during installation
"cannot run on Win 7 RTM with .NET 4.5.2 installed. Install Win 7 SPI to run in a supported environment." I have SP1.
So I D/L .NET 4.71 from MS, and that won't install either. The surgery was a great success, but the patient died.

Could it be because the March Win Update refuses to install? (same problem with Dec, Jan and Feb, in another thread here.)

I'll have to read the rest when I'm not working. I'd rather just live without the GPS updates. I wonder if it can be downloaded straight into the GPS instead of my computer.

I assume that what you posted was the contents of the log files listed in post #4. If not, please post the contents of those.
You may just have to try each month to install the Monthly updates and then try to install the full offline installer package again. Eventually, it may work.

Yes, that was after the Repair Tool, and I think it's identical to the previous one. Regular Feb Win update still hasn't installed either. MS makes me sick.
Do you think I can install the GPS update straight into the GPS? It's my first experience with one.

It does not look like you can update the Garmin without using a computer. It might be worthwhile to try a different computer if you can get access to one that has the latest Dot Net framework installed.

Thanks for your time anyway. Installing Rollups is a higher priority for my limited time.
I have a Vista and I bought a Win 7 disk to upgrade it 9 months ago, but I haven't done it yet. Someday I'll take my revenge on MS for making my life so miserable.
