Why are Acer monitors cheaper than the major brands
I have an older Samsung SynchMaster BX2231 with maximum 1920 x 1080 resolution. I use it for PhotoShop and Lightroom, no gaming. I have a custom mini tower that I will be upgrading soon with a new main board, current i7, excellent graphics card, etc.
I don’t mind paying up to $250.00 for a good/accurate monitor for editing. I also have a very good ASUS laptop I use for editing and You Tube tutorials as well.
I’ve noticed Acer has some monitors with excellent specs and they’re around $80.00 - $100.00 cheaper. Years ago Acer was the bargain brand for computers and I’ve read now Acer products are much better. Also the major brands do occasionally advertise on TV were Acer may only do print ads. I really like my Samsung TV’s, no complaints.
I noticed this Acer at B&H; Acer G257HU smidpx 25" 16:9 IPS Monitor at only $255.00 with great specs: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/searc...op+Nav-Search=
What’s the main reason Acer monitors are cheaper and are the colors and image quality the same as the major brands?
Thanks,
Mike

The best anyone can do is guess... It could be something as simple as they's prefer to sell many at a smaller profit margin then sell less with a larger markup.
I'd spend my time on -> what is the best bang for the buck XX inch monitor in the XX price range.
I think I paid $99.00 for my 24" Acer K242HL a year ago and love it.

Thanks for the info Steve! It is the best bang for the buck and I'll give a try.

I bought a slightly used ACER P206HL a couple of weeks ago for 25 bucks at a mom/pop computer store and it's great as the left side of my 3 monitor setup. Slightly smaller than my main 24" BenQ but the picture quality is equal.
