Question control panel broadcom utilty program

I never noticed it before maybe it was there, on the other toshiba satellite lap top win 8.1, there is a broadcom wireless utility in the control panel,, it is not on this system. win 7, sometimes the 8 is rather slow, watching the wireless icon, it doesn't show as much toward the full end.

Google one article said it might be a management utility? Never did anything with this one.

Is that the Broadcom Wireless LAN Tray Service,
If yes, the switch to the Wireless Zero Configuration service

It is much faster and does not slow your laptop down.

The only thing in the tray is the linksys router, there is a broadcom folder with network adapter in program files. I read on google there are driver issues if you remove it/

I'm on charter that wireless is verzon

See if there is actually a driver for it.
Might be 2 downloads, one for the Broadcom Wireless LAN Tray Service, and the other the driver.

so even if the program is in the control panel the driver would not have been installed? it seems sometimes it has to do with the time of day as naturally there are other users in the area, consequently service can be slowed down, so they say, i'm on the 7 right now, prefer it over 8.1
