Resolved [RESOLVED] Apps And Updates Will Not Download

    Toshiba AT100
    Android Version 3.2.1
    kernal version 2.6.36.3-00020-g98efb64

When I try to download an app or try to install updates I get this error

    "RPC:S-7:AEC-7 LDPU-FAOG-BOFHC"

I contacted Toshiba support and they basically told me to get a new tablet.
I joined a forum for the Toshiba tablet and they referred me to a Youtube video for upgrading to a newer android version. However, with the error I can't do it. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Unless you rooted it, you'd need to do a factory reset to get rid of the RPC:S-7 error.

Provide the link to the video. The only upgrade would be from Toshiba directly. Otherwise, you'd need to flash a custom ROM.

Thank you Midknyte for the link! It got rid of the error. Unfortunately when looking for updates it says "this browser is no longer supported". Are they referring to the browser app that is initially loaded? Do I need to download a different browser like chrome or opera to get updates?

    Thanks.

Why are you using a browser to get app updates? You should be using the Google Play app. If you want to install Chrome, you'd need to do it through the Google Play store anyway.

This is what the tablet does now. I went to "apps" in the upper right hand corner. then I went to "settings". Then I went to "about tablet". Then I tapped on "System updates". And I get "No software Updates Available". It used to say 13 updates available. But that's when it had the error. This is fixed, thanks to the link you gave me. So if I type "Google Play app" I get a whole bunch of choices. What I want to do is upgrade the Android version.

That's for OS updates, not apps. If Toshiba is no longer pushing out OTA updates (Over The Air updates), then you won't see any OS upgrades. If anything, you would need to manually locate the OTA file or install a custom ROM. Installing a custom ROM takes a lot more work and you'd probably want to ask someone that knows specifically about that tablet. The procedures vary from device to device.

Why are you typing Google Play app? That should already be in your list of apps. All you need to do is open the app and then look under My Apps to see if there are updates.

Google Play is a standard app on all Android devices. It's possible that your OS still says Android Market instead of Google Play, if you just reset it to factory specs. It should automatically upgrade to Google Play after you open Android Market, though.

I have an app that says "Play Store" and if I tap on that I get a screen that shows apps but in the upper left hand corner it says "search results for google play store" so that is how I get to the apps. There is also on the screen when I turn on the tablet, in the upper left hand corner the symbol for a magnifying glass and the word Google. If I tap on the word Google I get "check for updates". I then get a screen with three apps. "Update me, Android update checker and snapseed" and a message that says "More google play apps for check for updates. I installed "update me". tapping on this takes me to a screen with several apps that give information only about different android systems. I have reset factory settings a few times and I do not get :Google Play". Only "Play Store" to get to apps. Apps will install and some work and some say "Your hardware does not support this application, sorry! There are youtube videos for the tablet I have which is a "Thrive AT105" to update. But like you said, I would need to find someone with experience in doing this. The forum I joined for this tablet is not very responsive like Virtual Dr. is. So I am not going to try to upgrade it and use it like it is.

    Thanks again!!!

You shouldn't need to download another app to get updates. Play Store would be the one, if anything.

Like I mentioned, each device has its own quirks. Toshiba probably did some mods of their own.

You are correct! Play Store is the one.
