Yes 32 bit software will run fine on a 64 bit OS. Most software is only 32 bit. And the driver download should fit on a flash drive. The driver is compacted which you have to extract after you get it on the PC.

thanks photolady
i was able to install the installation package...on the 2nd try, i had to use the the compatibility mode-[vista sp1]....thanks to a hint i saw elsewhere.
everything seems to be installed and it printed a page.
the only thing is.... it's not sensing my wireless network. i don't really need it wireless but having the option is always preferable.
would this be what is missing...? the 2nd file i transferred ... Dell_V720_Series_ADI_WIN_32HBP Properties [the size is 25.6MB]
should i install that one ? , or leave well enough alone.

There are drivers for Win7 on the Dell support site:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...driverId=N54RW
Check pg95 of the manual for the wifi setup:
http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/al...uide_en-us.pdf
Verify the SSID, encryption type, and passphrase of your wifi network first.

thanks i couldn't get to the current dell downloads page like what you found... , what i found was blanked out , like it was taken down.
i'll un-installl and reinstall with that one. maybe if i have problems.... but.....
do you have a link for the larger file...like about 175,889KB ? Dell_V720_Series_ADI_Installation _Package
or is the link you gave me all that is needed ??

All I did was google "dell printer v725w drivers" and it took me right to the downloads.
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...rinter/drivers
You just need the drivers to print. If you need the other software, then you'd need the apps suite. The apps suite include the wifi setup app.

thanks again
my mistake was thinking the dell website would 'give it up' easily..... - dell just wants to sell new printer...
do i need to install both, or just the larger one. ?
if both, which one should i install first?
