[RESOLVED] OE Address Book

What ho one and all,

In my OE Address Book, I not only have the Shared Contacts but also a Neighbourhood Watch list and a Neighbourhood Watch folder. For reason that I don't understand, the folder has a complete list of all the names, the NHW (not folder) has less. So when adding new addresses, I do so to the folder list.

When I create an e-mail, hit 'To' and the address book opens, and in the past, a structure as Address Book opened and I could select all names listed in the NHW folder.

Now when creating and e-mail and clicking 'To', the only NHW addresses available is the non-complete one. Previously (that was about last week) the same 'To' gave me the options to select and open the NHW folder with all the names.

What has happened and now can I change OE to get the folder back?

To put it another way, image ! is how things are now, image 2 is how it was and how I would like it.

As an alternative, can I copy the contents of the NHW folder and paste to the NHW file?

Thank for the links; tried the advice and unfortunately, neither work. My Address Book is complete but the NHW folder is not present when creating a new mail.

What I have done is copy all the contacts in the NHW folder and pasted them into the NHW file. So hopefully, I have all the addresses for the next flyer. However, that does not seem to work wither. OE / Create Mail / To is accessing an old, non-complete list and I don't know how to correct it.

I have tried importing the data but still OE is not getting it right. This is very recent since for the past two years, there has been no issue.

Details, details, details - the key is in the details.

What happened when you tried the procedures outlined in the links? A Russian novel detailing exactly what occurred would help us diagnose the issue. Did you not see the options listed; were the options there but had no effect? Let us know the exact steps you were able to perform, and what the results were.

You could also try a System Restore to a date when it was working.

Again, thanks for the assistance. I think I have resolved the issue, but it was somewhat like taking a hammer to it.

System Restore achieved zilch. As for what happened previously, I really have no idea. Two weeks ago, I sent the NHW flyer to all on the list, I just hit Create Mail/To and from the address box that opened, selected the NHW folder that has about 70 addresses in it. Boom, boom, job done.

Last week, that folder had gone, and I was left with the three items as shown in image 1. For reason I don't know, that was not the up-to-date list since it is not a folder (which was up-to-date.) The folder had vanished, although it is there is all its glory in Address Book.

Address Book is correct, all up-to-date with the newest recipients and those who have move, deleted from AB.

So I took the hammer approach of restoring from an image that was taken about two months ago when I KNOW all was hunky dory. Unfortunately, that did not solved the problem. For reason that I don't understand, OE/Create Mail/To seems to be taking its address information from somewhere other than AB.

So this is what I have done. In AB, under the Main ID Contacts folder, I have made two new folders (NHW and Committee) From the NHW file, I copied and pasted all addresses into the NHW folder; likewise with Committee. Now when I run OE/Create Mail/To, all the up-to-date addresses are there.

Guess I had better make another image now that all is working correctly.
