Desktop icons keep disappearing
Some, not all of the permanent icons I keep on the desktop keep on disappearing.
Refresh desktop will not get then back.
I have to open the desktop folder in file explorer to find them.
The only want I can get a folder icon back on the desktop is to drag the folder from the desktop folder in file explorer into a new folder then drag it out onto the desktop.
But after a while the icon disappears again.
Why are icons disappearing?
Any idea how to keep them on the desktop.
This the downloaded rtm version releases on JUly 29

So you mean that the entire link, not just the icon, is missing from the Desktop?
Did you uncheck and recheck Show Desktop Icons?
This fix is for Win7/8, but it might work on Win10 also. Rebuilding the Icon Cache

I think it is the Nvidea graphics cards, I have 2, and one of them keeps loosing it's drivers.
I had to force a driver to install on 1 card.
It would not install in the normal way.
Seems to have stopped the problem for now.
After the upgrade I had all sorts of nvidea problams.
Also I upgraded another pc which had ATI graphics, and it had no install problams or after the install graphics were just fine.
Nvidea I presume is the problam

There were known issues with Nvidia drivers, even with the tech previews.
Try installing the 353.62 WHQL drivers

If you allow windows to install the drivers it thinks is best, then problems happen.
I installed each individual driver for each card from a disc, I selected the driver on the disc to suit the card, then I had no more problems.
Let Microsoft install the drivers it wants and that's when the problems start.

Make sure to block the Nvidia driver in Windows Update.
