[RESOLVED] usb 3.0 card, pci, not pci-express
anybody know of an affordable ( < $30.00 ) usb card for an old motherboard requiring the older PCI interface, not PCI-E ???
Various Windows and Linux platforms...

There are very few PCI USB 3.0 cards available, since you likely won't get USB 3.0 speeds through the PCI bus anyway. I didn't see any under $30.

yeah, same for me, and even IF it got full-speed, I'm not gonna pay over $ 50.00 just to satisfy my ego on this old system!

Maybe
Using USB 3.0 devices with this Card will allow data transfer rates at up to 1.3 Gbps, double the performance versus using USB 2.0 cards and peripherals.

Thanks Train, I'll look into it... while we're on this subject, what about an even older ISA card for USB 3.0? Feasible? Available? A wast of time? TIA

ISA wouldn't be capable of handling USB2.0, much less 3.0. Waste of time.
Even PCI bus can't support USB3.0 at full speed. That's why you'd need a PCIe card.
PCI bus = 133MBps max (that's also assuming there are no other PCI devices)
USB3.0 = 640MBps max
