[RESOLVED] lexmark laser printing problem (faint print)
we have a lexmark c540n laser printer. have had it for a few years now.
this morning it started printing lighter than usual. the black toner cartridge was changed but no change in the printing.
recent history: yellow toner cartridge was changed yesterday and waste toner bottle was changed 2 weeks ago.
i printed a test page and the microsoft "windows" were not printing their correct colors (red one was yellow). i also printed a document that has black and red characters and noticed the red were printing mostly yellow. i changed the magenta toner cartridge.
so now we have new black, magenta and yellow toner cartridges but printing is still faint and colors are not correct.
i see no way to "clean" the way inkjets clean their nozzles. i'm at a loss how to proceed.
any suggestions?
thanks in advance.

thanks, train.
i followed their instructions to reset settings to factory defaults.
it worked ... sorta.
the black is back and so is the cyan and yellow. magenta, however, seems to still be missing.
i've have a scan of printing done in black, blue, yellow and red. can't figure out how to post it here but here's the photobucket's URL:

Select go advanced
scroll down to Manage Attachment button
Click it, browse to your picture and select it,
upload it
I do not know what to say to help you further, maybe try the trouble shooter a second time ????

as for the magenta, i'll guess i'll just wait. i'm hoping someone neglected to change it and there is no toner "in the pipeline" at the moment.
i've also tried to attach a photo .. we'll see if it works.
i see it does ... yay. and thanks.

I see now. Lots better.
Now there is a limit to how much we can attach so to fix that, top right click settings, then in the left pane select attachments, there you can remove them.
