Resolved [RESOLVED] Replace Search programs as part of URL space

For some reason I have lost the search programs usually situated as part of the URL space. For example, Google and the rest of the them have disappeared and the URL space now covers the full page width. Any help in restoring those missing will be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you mean in your browser? What browser are you using? What OS?

Click on the magnifying glass in the Search bar on your FF toolbar, then click Change Search Settings. In the next window you can check to reset all the various popular search engines as well as choose your Default Search Engine..

I hope you mean FF 31 ESR.

I'm guessing you mean the search box that is next to the address bar. Right-click on the blank space over or under the address bar and click customize. You can drag and drop the search box out of the Additional Tools and Features.

Welshjim: Apparently our screens are different, I don' have a magnifying glass anywhere on the Firefox toolbar. Thhis means that I can't finish the end of your instructions.

Midkynte: One of the first things I tried was to use Customize but I had no success. Can you provide the location of "Additional Tools and Features."

Excuse the long delay in replying to your posts. The flu got to me. Thank you for your responses.

"Additional Tools and Features" is on the left side of the Customize page.

You should see one that says "Search". Drag that back out next to your address bar.

Midknyte: I found "Additional Tools and Features" where you indicated but no "Search." Just for completeness I'll include what is on the left side of my screen (Without the Icons) Open Files, Subscribe, Character Encoding, Email Link, Sync, and Tab Groups. Any further help?

If search is not there, it sounds like you still have it near the address bar. Maybe you moved it to the menu bar?

    Can you take a screenshot?

If all else fails, you can reset your profile. It shouldn't affect your bookmarks, but I'd make a backup of your bookmarks just in case.

Open Options, search tab and set who you want there.

Hi All, .......... Don't ask me how or why but in reviewing Midknyte's Post #7,there was the Search Bar with the list that I gave in my Post #8. When I dragged this to its position to the right of the Address Bar my problem was solved. My sincere thanks to each of you who contributed. And once again I don't know how to include Resolved as part of this message. Sorry
