[RESOLVED] Stop Hotmail sign in
Hello all, did something to change my sign in on my New Laptop.
Used to sign in normally, with my password into windows. Have two accounts, mine and the Wifes.
In the tiles part, I filled in the Microsoft tile, my Hotmail account, and now it asks me for my Hotmail sign in details.
How do I go back to windows sign in please
Further information.
Called Microsoft/Hotmail support, they took control of my machine, said it was because of Spam emails that have affected both my Ntlworld email and Hotmail and they want me to pay them around £130 a year, or 57 for 3 months, not got that kind of money.
Any emails go into spam, got mcaffee Lifesafe anti-virus.
Please can someone help.
Thanks, Gep

Open the Spam folder and delete them.

That "support" cost sounds like a scam to me. I would run a scan with Malwarebytes first, after whoever it was took control of your system. If the results are clean, we can tell you how to revert to a non-Hotmail login.

How do I get back my windows sign in, instead of Hotmail?
Thanks, Gep

Hello Jdc2000, tried the above, hopefully did all suggested, still the same.
More info.
I log onto my new Laptop using my Microsoft login. I get on using a CODE, but cannot get on using my Hotmail.com email address. Each time I try, my password for the account does not work, and when I try to send an email to get a code, it goes to an email address [email protected] mine should be gep______@ not Hotmail my private email address. I cannot download APPS etc, as I need my password, it does not ask for my number.
I have created a new profile and it does allow me on the old way.
Though, would like to use my Hotmail address, but, 100% hacked, hacker must be having a good laugh.
Thanks, Gep

Hello all, deleted the offending profile, now all back to normal. Even deleted the Microsoft email tile.
Thanks, GEP
