    Issue with Firefox

I have used Firefox for all my PC's for years now, but have recently (last two months) had issues with it crashing. This occurs with my laptop running Windows 7 and my desktop running 8.1. It happens at least once a day and usually more often and generally occurs when opening up a new tab and loading one of my bookmarks. Am I the only one having this issue? I am currently running 29.0.1, but it also happen with the two previous versions. Could this have something to do with my changing my ISP?

I wouldn't think it's ISP related. Are there addons you've recently installed or updated? Try running them without addons and see if it continues to happen. Click Help>restart with addons disabled.

Definitely start without the addons first. Majority of the problems I see are caused by addons. FF29 was a major change, so it could have broken some of your addons.

If FF works without the addons, then I would only enable a couple at a time so you can narrow down the "bad apple".

Let us know which addons you are running. Maybe there are known issues with FF29.

BTW, did you update your Adobe Flash?

This is a fairly new PC running 8.1. I am running the latest version of Adobe and the add-ons are pretty pedestrian and include AdBlock Plus 2.6, Avast! On-line Security 9.0.2018.95, Download Helper 4.9.22, Https-Everywhere 3.5.1, LastPass 3.1.1, Pocket 3.0.4, Weather Watcher Live1.0.23, and YouTube High Definition 8.4. My laptop running Windows 7 has a pretty similar list and like I stated, this problem started a couple of months ago probably when Firefox updated to Vers. 28

Addons on Win8.1 may act differently than on Win7. I still think it's worthwhile to try running in FF "safe mode" as a test.

It might also be a bad profile. You can try resetting FF. You'll have to reinstall your addons after that.

    Firefox will save these things:

    Bookmarks
    Browsing history
    Passwords
    Cookies
    Web form auto-fill information
    Personal dictionary

These items and settings will be removed:

Open tabs, windows, tab groups, extensions and themes, website-specific preferences, search engines, download history, DOM storage, security settings, download actions, plugin settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features will be removed.

I appreciate all the advice. I will try the "safe" mode. Beyond that, I guess I will live with the problem. Really, I just wondered if there was an issue with the latest incarnations of Firefox, or whether it was strictly on my end. It appears that is the case.

Did you look at the addon compatibility reports?

Lots of errors with Pocket. It hasn't been updated since June 2013:

avast! Online Security has a couple errors:

    Problem 9.0.2018.95 Firefox 29.0.1 20140506152807 Windows NT 6.3; WOW64 May 22, 2014
    Windows NT 6.3 = Win8.1

I couldn't find Weather Watcher on the addons site. Is that the right name?

I think the other addons are ok. I'd start looking at the ones I listed first.

    Weather Watcher Live
    Add-on says
This add-on has been removed by its author

Does not look good for it.

Ah. Definitely a bad sign. I'd uninstall it. FF26 and FF29 broke some addons, so old/abandoned addons could mess you up.
