SONY VAIO VGN-NR430E WINDOWS 7 DVD MOVIES READ ISSUE

It will auto start all burned data DVD\CDs
The drive will Burn to DVD disk; Data, Videos, Music, and Mixed Files.
    with no problem.
But it will Not Play ALL Off the shelf Movies, old or most recent.
I've installed CyberLink Power DVD and that didn't help.
However I've tested Power DVD in a external USB DVD Drive and All my DVD movies Played Just fine.
I've Updated the FirmWare in the native DVD drive.
and all my effort didn't work.
    Any working suggestions?
    Thx.

Have cleaned the lazer lens with a cleaner cd?

Might want to run the cd 2 or 3 times.

Most DVDs are encoded for play in specific regions. To play a regionalized DVD on your computer, you must set your DVD drive to play discs from that region.

Click the Start orb, type in devmgmt.msc and press [Enter]. Click the little triangle to the left of "DVD/CD-ROM drives", right-click your DVD drive, select "Properties", click the "DVD Region" tab and start reading.

It was already set to region 1 usa which is the correct region for my laptop.
    VLC didn't help.
region kill didn't do a thing.
This is a baffling surprise to Me,
I've worked on hundreds of laptops
this drive does everything else perfectly,
but it just won't open or pay any off the shelve DVD movies.
    thx for the input!
