Can't boot from DVD drive
My daughter's laptop has become corrupted, so I'm trying to re-install Win7.
It's a Dell Inspiron and I put my Win7 install DVD (not a Dell DVD) into the drive, but can't figure out how to boot to the DVD drive.
Can someone tell me how to boot to the Setup / Config so I can change the boot priority?
(btw, I also tried Dell's built in backup and recovery... 3 times, also tried the startup repair and that didn't work either.)
Thanks

Dell keys are using either f1 or f2 to get into the BIOS. Tap either them as the computer is booting up. What I usually do if I don't know which key it is, I tap both of them, back and forth. Use your index and second finger, tap one, the tap the other, back a fourth.

Thanks!
Yep, it was F1.
(F2 and F10 were identified on the boot scrren for boot options, but not what I was looking for. I also tried F6, F8, and Delete to try to Safe Boot or get into the Bios, but didn't try F1)

Good you found the correct key. I have found on most Dell's it is the f1 key.

Thanks Again.
I should have just tried them ALL, after the obvious ones didn't work.
And since I'm very logical and analytical, I would have started with F1 and found it first!
