Thanks for the info. I did not think 8.1 was available yet. Not sure I will ever get used to this one :-(
Running WIN 7 Home, DSL, IE, AV & Firewall installed.

Then use one of the other options.

Another option is to downgrade to Windows 7.

I think the guy at the store said it would not downgrade, something about drivers or some such.

8.1 is only a preview, aka beta, right now. It still won't bring back the regular start button, but it can boot directly to desktop mode.
