First of all, create your own thread next time. This thread is over 2 years old.
Make/Model of the motherboard would help. Doesn't sound like you have the right drivers. Once they are installed, you shouldn't need the floppy anymore.
As I said before, you could slipstream the drivers onto a new XP CD.
Otherwise you need to slipstream a new XP CD with the SATA drivers using nlite.
