Dual Wireless and Router

I have Win 7 prof on my computer that is attached directly to my router. I moved a printer into my basement and
it works by wireless with my laptop. I would like to be able to make my desktop able to use this printer.
I would need to install a wireless USB Adapter on this computer to make it work.
Can a computer have both a direct connection to my router and also a wireless USB Adapter working
at the same time?

Is this a wireless router or not? Make/model might help.
If you have a wireless router, can the laptop connect to it from the basement?

I moved a printer into my basement and it works by wireless with my laptop.

Is the printer connected to your wireless router? (assuming you have one) or you mean by an adhoc connection? It would help if you gave the make/model of the printer too.

Yes, it is possible, but I don't see why you would need to do that. If you have a wireless router, you don't need a wireless adapter to connect to the printer. You would connect through the router to the printer.

I have a AT&T Uverse wireless router. It does reach the basement. I have an Epson 515NX all in one printer. It used to be connected
to this computer by USB cord and is wireless to my 2 laptops. I got another printer and moved the epson to the baasement. My laptops
works wireless on it. My desktop is connected to the router. To make my epson printer work I need to install a USB adapter to be able
to reach it by wireless. The router connection from my desktop alone does not reach it in the basement. Can my desktop have both a
router connection and wireless adapter at the same time?

Like Train mentioned, that printer should be able to connect to the wireless router. Then you would connect from the desktop to the printer via network.

Do you mean that the wireless signal is too weak to reach from the router to the printer? You said it does reach the basement.
If the signal is too weak, adding a USB adapter on your desktop probably isn't going to help. The router's antenna should be stronger than a USB adapter.

Yes I did ask this before and did not understand the answer.

No, it wouldn't. If you want to connect directly to the printer via usb adapter, you have to set up an adhoc wireless connection. I don't see how that is easier than connecting the printer to the wifi router.

You would configure the printer to connect to the wifi router. Then you would connect the pc to the printer over the network connection (wired to wireless).
