    I wish

I wish I could believe this, but I find that Microsoft products (which are MUST haves on PCs) don't work with their own O/S. I don't want to upgrade to 10, I'm afraid of MS products....using Opera & Chrome.

That's your choice. Chrome is the next best at blocking malware downloads.

    I have IE10

I don't have IE9, I have 10, and it is a magnet for malware and viruses. I attempted to uninstall it through control panel, and it's still active.
    How can I "disable" IE10?

When you uninstall IE10, Windows will automatically restore your previous version of IE.

    You are correct

It seems that IE10 collected the most virus attacks. I now have IE9. What should I do? I want to uninstall or disable it.

It seems that your IE10 is the only one. You may want to have Broni double-check and make sure your computer is clean.

Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates (left pane), search for "Windows Internet Explorer 9", right-click it, click Uninstall > Yes.
