Graphic card suggestion for Alienware desktop computer

    Hello,

I have an Alienware Desktop Auroa and I'm looking for suggestions for a graphics card. I have currently the ATI Radeon HD 5670. I have two of them installed when I got my computer. I don't want to spend alot of money on a graphics card but hoping to swap it out with another graphic card. I have been looking for Nividia as a choice that I want to go with.

    Anyone have suggestions?
    Eric

I would bee line it to: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2012-vga-gpgpu/01-3DMark11-A-Entry,2931.html

    T
he chart doesn't list the 5670 - but the 5570 is way towards the bottom with 2270 points.. The best card gets 32,102 points... There are other charts at Toms to look at...

    Guessing you do some gaming..

    What is your budget?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Tom's Hardware > Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart. The 5670 is about the 14th tier down. You want that good or better, (higher up in the chart).

Why are you swapping out the cards? Are you running them in Crossfire?

I'm not sure you're going to find something significantly better for under $100.

    Yes, Crossfire is enabled.

The reason I'm swapping out the cards is because one of my ealier posts I have made is still happening. I figured that a new graphic card may be the better way to go. Some days I don't have the problem and other days they occur and I have been dealing with this for a while. You can see my thread on resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7.

That would have been good to know from the beginning.

I'm guessing you tried several versions of the ATI/AMD drivers. And also did a hard drive diag with the manufacturer's diags (not just chkdsk) and a memory diag like Memtest86+.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the graphics card a few times already. After my latest stop blue screen all system tests have passed with the AlienAutopsy program. I run the program periodically to see if I have different results. To be honest, it has been almost a week now with no problems.

I may have found a graphics card that I am looking at purchasing. I am wondering if I need to get one or two cards with the gaming I do. Would one graphic card stress out the one? What are your thoughts?

That 650 [ 18067 ] will walk all over those two by itself.
About double if I figure right.
