PC has to be rebooted to get Internet on
Seems like every time I start my PC up, also frequently when Ive been away from the comp for some hours, it just disconnects and won't connect again. Sometimes I select "diagnose" and it fixes without reboot, but 80% of the time it has to reboot (something about IP) This is the first time Ive had this with any of my PC's.
Is there a way to fix this ?

Wired or wireless?
DSL, Cable, Satellite, Cellular or other?

Odd thing is, for the first time in months, the PC booted up with net access without needing rebooting this morning !

Oh, it was just the once. Went straight back to needing to be rebooted. Also, by the way, occassionally when I nip out onto the High St for a little while I come back in to find it off, as it switched itrself off, and I get the "Ran into a problem" and "Send, Don't Send" message.

Sounds like your ISP is disconnecting your internet connection after some period of inactivity. It should come right back up though, within a few seconds, when it recognizes you're trying to access the internet again.

Also, check to make sure that your network adapter is not set to turn off to save power after a period of inactivity.
Check the power settings for the computer as well. And, if it says it powered off to prevent a problem, see if there is a more complete error message that might give a clue as to why. Check the temperatures and fan rpms in the BIOS or with something like SpeedFan.
