[RESOLVED] Windows old folder
While looking at the contents of my C: drive, I see a folder named Windows Old. I think it was created last month when I did a clean install of Windows 7.
Is this folder of any value to me now or could it be later if I tried to use it to reinstall the contents of the folder to my C: drive? It occupies 24GB and while I don't need the space on my hard drive, I may as well delete it if that should that be your advice. As usual, TIA.

Have you looked in it for anything you are missing.
Yes, the last install , when you missed removing and remaking the partition, is where it is from. Yes, it can be deleted.
By the way, a shortcut to any progrm in there will work until you get rid of the folder.

buf--Look at http://www.pcworld.com/article/228884/keep_win_old.html
When you decide to get rid of Windows.old, use DiskCleanup.

Many thanks Train. I will make a shortcut to that and then think about which avenue to take.

And thanks to you Jim. Never thought about burning or putting the Windows Old on an extenal hd just to have available should I later need a file I may be missing. I looked at the folder with that in mind several days ago and signed off on that but I may still find a need. I am in no hurry to delete the folder. I did consider the possibility of
re-installing the folder contents should I desperately need it. Don't know if that is possible.

Yes the folder contents can be copied and pastes. Sendto also works. Had to do that a few times. Clients <shudder>
