Resolved [RESOLVED] Maximizing windows in win 7

I am tired having to hit the maximize button on every window that I open. I have dragged the window to cover the screen to be maximized and then used the Ctrl key and Xed out the screen. No desired results and then I have tried the shift key and Xed out of screen. Neither of these work now like they did in XP. Anyone to help me. As usual, TIA.

After beginning this thread, I tried holding down the Ctrl key while Xing out of the window. Closed VDR and then re-opened the window and it was maximized. Guess I wasn't holding down the Ctrl key while Xing out of the window. False alarm but I am glad to solve my own problem--for a change.
